Aldea Laboratorio
Reimagining the territory from the vernacular dispersed settlement as an agro-cultural core, this project seeks to create a multidisciplinary knowledge program around the relationship between art, peasant knowledge, and agroecology. The enquiry programme allows the composition of knowledge (art, landscape, and rural wisdom) combining research and exchange with contemporary artistic creation.

A fundamental part of the project lies in establishing a multi-agent and transdisciplinary program that bridges technical and artistic disciplines to address the contemporary challenges of territories such as the one where the Inland village is . International specialists from various fields, including Ignacio González González, Sandra Carla Rozental Holzer, Gonzalo Barrena and others, collaborate to promote cross-sectoral alliances. These collaborations aim to connect local communities with new cultural visions, providing both functional and aesthetic value to the process of rural transformation.
The implementation of this laboratory centered on two major Creation Meetings held between 2022 and 2023. These sessions focused on "Sensory Readings of the Landscape" and "Woods Aesthetics and the Forestry Question," involving dozens of participants in the shared study of the territory. The resulting insights and materials are compiled in a publication, available in both digital and printed formats. Additionally, the project served for testing techniques to inform diverse artistic works, some of which have been showcased in institutions such as the Centro Botín. By fostering local activation and international exchange, Aldea Laboratorio establishes a transformative model for the rural environment.
This project was executed between 2022-2023 and financed by the Consejería de Cultura del Principado de Asturias / Plan de Recuperacion, Transformacion y Resiliencia
